Application Instructions for Iaido Shinsa
Since fall 2018, SCKF has been conducting yearly iaido shinsa for ranks up
to 1dan. For these shinsa, you will apply through your SCKF dojo (for
example, see the
10/27/19 shinsa).
To apply for ranks higher than 1dan, iaidoka must participate in shinsa
outside of SCKF. For full details on the procedure, see the
SCKF external shinsa notes.
What follows below is a brief version for most iaido shinsa conducted by
AUSKF member federations; also refer to
this link.
- complete the SCKF
external shinsa application form, including your dojo head
instructor's signature, and scan the form
- fill out the shinsa application form from the federation conducting
the shinsa. Be sure to enter your name the same as it appears in the
AUSKF membership database (see your menjo, or ask your dojo).
- if the form has a place for the regional federation president's
signature, scan the form
- if the form does not have a place for the regional federation
president's signature, fill out the AUSKF Affiliate Organization
Exam Request form and scan it
- email the scans from steps 1 and 2 to the SCKF shinsa coordinator,
who will handle getting approval by the shinsa advisory board.
The SCKF president will then sign the form from step 2 and email it
back to you.
- after receiving the signed form, use it to apply for the shinsa,
sending all required materials and fees to the federation conducting
the shinsa
