2019 Eclipse Expedition
This trip to Chile (26 June - 13 July) was planned around the 2019 total solar eclipse which crossed the South Pacific and Chile, and ended at sunset in Argentina. From our viewing location in Chile, the sun was still partially ecclipsed as the sun set.
Also included were visits to several public and research observatories, a visit to a very high altitude observatory (17,000 ft.), and an extended stay in northern Chile for southern night sky astrophotography. We also managed to squeeze in a day-trip into the high plateau of southern Bolivia.
