This part of Ophiuchus contains numerous dark clouds of dust which
obscure the background stars. Below the bright blue star in the center
of the frame, the large dark mass is informally
called the Pipe Nebula, which itself looks vaguely like the back end of a
horse with its head at the top of the frame.
