Cassiopeia |
Cassiopeia is the great "W" (or "M") in the sky that most northerners learn early in sky gazing because it is so recognizable. For getting oriented (especially after months of cloudy weather) it is also handy to know that Cassiopeia is "opposite" the Big Dipper, on the other side of Polaris, with the open side towards the pole.
