San Francisco International Airport (SFO) technically has an address of San Francisco, with its own ZIP code, but it is about 10 miles south of the San Francisco city limit line, between San Bruno and Millbrae on the Bayshore Freeway, U.S. 101. Take the airport exit, then follow the signs to Domestic Flights, then follow the signs to Hourly Parking. The lat/lon are approximate, for mapping purposes. Once you are inside the garage, which is quite large, your GPS won't get a signal. After taking your ticket, you take the ramp up to Level 3, then enter at the last option for parking before the "Auto Exit", marked areas E, F, and G. Then turn left and go to the wall opposite F/G 36. See http://www.flysfo.com/transport/parking/gt_prk_short.asp For driving directions, parking rates, and other airport information. Notice that this page prominently mentions Electric Vehicle Charging Stations! This is pay parking, unlike LAX. The rate as of 5/2001 is $1 per 15 minutes, $35 maximum per 24 hours, 30 day maximum stay. (30 days would cost $1050! Credit cards accepted.) There are two spaces with the charger in between but off center (cord barely long enough to allow paddle to reach a car parked on the left since EV1s can't get too close without scraping on the concrete parking barrier!) Good signage: A green sign saying "Electric Vehicle Parking Only" with a smaller white sign attached underneath saying "All Others Will Be Towed". The charger had a lock but was open and in good working condition when checked on 5/17/2001. Nearby: Major airport - all the usual shops, restaurants, etc. -- Steven Dibner 5/18/2001
